The Temecula Valley Elks recently announced the winners of the Lodge’s Drug Awareness Contest for 2021-22.

The lodge hosted a dinner for the winners and their parents and presented the winners with framed certificates.

The competition consists of three competitions – a poster competition for third through fifth grade students, an essay competition for sixth through eighth grade students, and a video competition for preschool, high school and high school students.

This year’s theme for all three competitions was “The Best Me Is Drug Free,” which students had to include in their entries.

The Lodge awarded first, second and third place prizes in the poster and essay competitions and first place prizes in the preschool and high school divisions of the video competition.

In addition to the certificates, the winners received Barnes & Noble gift cards — cards valued at $50 for first place, $35 for second place, $25 for third place and $15 for an honorable mention, according to a press release.

The winning entries were forwarded to the district level.
